You can find any type of food you want in LA, at any price. The size of your bill is not necessarily any guide to the quality of the food, but it will affect the quality of customer. Remember though that the people with money in Tinseltown are not all famous stars.
Morton's: (8764 Melrose Avenue. Phone: (310) 276-5205) This is arguably top of the list as the place to combine star spotting with gourmet dining. The prices will put off anybody except top box office attractions.
The Stinking Rose: (55 North La Cienega Blvd. Phone: (310) 652-7673) Not the place to go if you're heading for a singles bar after dinner, the stinking rose that gives this restaurant its name is garlic. It is used to flavor everything from starters to ice cream and all points between.
Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles: (5006 W Pico Blvd. Phone: (323) 936-3730) Proving that not everything in SoCal is calorie-free, Roscoe's offers cholesterol for the soul. The signature chicken and waffles is not to be missed and the décor will look familiar from flicks such as 'Swingers' and 'Pulp Fiction'.
Mexico City: (2121 Hillhurst Ave. Phone: (323) 661-7227) This is rock 'n' roll Mexican kitsch. Dynamite margaritas and perfectly prepared standard dishes from south of the border pull in the tattoos and piercings crowd. But they may be stars too.
News Room: (120 N. Robertson Blvd. Phone: 310-652-4444) One of the less-expensive places to spot stars, especially if they're health conscious. This lunch spot shows that low calorie doesn't necessarily mean no flavor. Great smoothies and fat-free waffles.
