Toronto: Getting around Like most big cities, cars can be more of a hindrance than a help. Getting to the airport can be a particular nightmare. Fortunately Toronto has a great public transit system. A subway system is linked with bus, streetcar and light rail transit to get you anywhere on one fare, provided it's a one-way trip with no stopovers. The city also has over six miles of underground walkways downtown. The PATH, as it's known, links shopping, services and entertainment and it's all well signposted. This is a real boon when the weather's lousy.
