Washington DC is served by three major airports. Dulles International Airport is 26 miles west of the city and takes around 45 minutes by road. Baltimore-Washington International Airport is 30 miles northwest of the city with a similar drive time and Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport is four miles south of the city and about a 15-minute drive. Each airport has excellent taxi and shuttle services and car rental offices, including limousine hire.
The best way and most convenient method of getting around the city is to use the Metrorail subways system. Clean and efficient, it avoids traffic congestion and is considerably less expensive than hiring a taxi.
